At Narrandera East School a fund raising event is organised every term to benefit both local and national charities.
In Term One a water fun day and barbeque is held to raise funds to for the Narrandera District Hospital. The students wear beach clothes to school and participate in water play activities which include running under the sprinklers, filling the bath tub, sponge relays and playing in the wet sandpit. A barbeque lunch with drinks and ice blocks is also served.
In Term Two Stewart House is the recipient of the school's fundraising efforts. Each year 1,800 public school children in need travel to Stewart House from many parts of NSW and the ACT. During their stay, children are provided with optometric, dental and medical treatment as well as emotional support. This is balanced with health and educational programs and out of school activities to boost their self-esteem and healthier lifestyle.
In Term Three Footy Colours Day is celebrated and students wear their favourite footy colours and participate in a range of footy related activities. Donations are forwarded to the Fight Cancer Foundation which is a registered charity dedicated to providing care, treatment and support to people with cancer and their families as well as funding important cancer research.
In Term 4 students will be asked to donate goods to make up gift boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Millions of children around the world struggle daily with war, poverty, famine and disease. By donating simple gifts to fill shoe boxes the students help to bring joy and hope to children in need.
